The title of this series of works “SOMA” in its most ancient meaning of “body, appearance, composition” serves to make the outline of the elements participating in the image indefinite (in this case human and vegetable subjects) and to understand them all under a only apparently vague term that moves everything horizontally.

SOMA is not only the subject represented in the work and not even the artist behind the subject but the entity that gathers and unites all the elements of the painting and observes what is happening.

The second term “hyper-object” is inspired by the philosopher who coined it, Timothy Morton: “The hyper-object is such an object that it can not be intrinsically known from an external position, in other words the subject is part by definition. The subject that explores and knows can not look at the “hyper-objects” from the outside, but rather, is part of it, is hosted, surrounded, bound, interacts so strongly that it can only be considered an “internal” part. The universe is a hyper-object. Human society as such is a “hyper-object”.
